"People on the beach never know what the waves are saying at the back shore," muses photographer Chow San as he wanders between Shek O's twin shores with his camera.

The front beach is a theater of curious encounters—a wandering national flag, some floating vegetables. But when he walks alone to the back shore, the tide whispers clearly: "Every photographer is capturing their own reflection." Discarded trash becomes his most honest audience.

"Only the loneliest lens can capture the noisiest thoughts within."
